Welcome to our third “Because of God’s Great Mercy” Stewardship temple talk.

This week, we would like to demonstrate how to calculate an increase in giving of 1% of your household income.  The stewardship committee is asking each person to consider increasing their financial gifts by at least this amount.  This year the Stewardship Committee is asking that you increase your financial giving to both the General Fund and the Building Fund to help maintain our beautiful worship place and make St Mark’s a thriving, welcoming church in our community by spreading God’s Great Mercy and Love. 

Please see the paper that was handed to you as you entered the church today.  If you did not receive the paper, please raise your hand and the ushers can hand you one.   This paper demonstrates how to increase your giving by 1% of your household income.

Determining an increase of 1% of household income is quite easy. Using the chart, move down the left side to find your approximate household income. Once you have done that, if you give weekly, move one column to the right to find the amount of increase each week that would be 1% of your household income. If you give monthly, move two columns to the right to find the amount of increase each month that would be 1% of your household income.

These modest increases, taken by each of us, will make a huge difference in our congregation’s ability to do God’s work in the coming year. When each of us does a little, together we can do much.

This coming week you will receive an email with a Commitment Form to indicate your giving for the coming year, as well as information about automated ways of giving.  Please look for this information and either bring your response to worship next week, November 8^th, Commitment Sunday or mail your response to the church.

So that we can do even more of God’s work, you are encouraged to increase your giving by 1% of your household income. Below is a chart to help with this.
