Greetings and welcome! I’m Pastor Kris Dietzen. I have been blessed to serve as Pastor of St. Mark’s since June 2007. I’ve served Christ’s Church since being ordained December 12, 1987 in five settings. I was Assistant Pastor at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE from 1988-1992; Co Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Park Forest, IL from 1992—2000; Associate Pastor at Our Savior’s Lutheran, Burbank, IL from 2000-2003; and Pastor of Cambridge Lutheran Church, Cambridge, IL from 2003—2007.
At St. Mark’s, I’m Pastor to the whole congregation. I get to preach God’s Word weekly in our worship services; share Holy Communion both in our services and on pastoral calls with the sick or homebound. I teach the Sunday Adult Class; 7th and 8th Grade Confirmation Classes and lead Bible Study at VBS. I partner with the committees of our congregation to help and support them in their ministries. I’m also involved beyond the congregation in the ministries of Bethesda Options; Metro Lutheran Ministry and Children’s Memorial Lutheran Church.
My Siberian Husky, Yuki, and my Border Collie, Bo, are my walking buddies. We try to walk 2-3 miles each day. My cats are always there to greet the dogs and I when we come home. Besides ministry and my pets; my hobbies are traveling; doing yardwork; cheering for our Kansas City Royals and my college team, the Arkansas Razorbacks.
